Just an update...
So Jason and I went to see the high-risk OB yesterday in Indy. I had another ultrasound and talked with a genetic counselor. The ultrasound brought very good news... neither the technician or the doctor saw any reason to be concerned about the liver. VERY good news! They said that if the liver was in fact enlarged, then it only makes sense that his abdomen be enlarged too, and its not. As for the feet, they are fairly certain that my little guy will have club feet. BUT, the good news there is that he might not necessarily need surgery. It could be corrected with a series of castings to move the feet into a more natural place. If that does not correct it, then he will need surgery. But it would be minor and he would likely not know what was going on. The important thing is to get it corrected before he becomes mobile. The genetic counselor we spoke with was very knowledgeable and is able to put us in contact with orthopedic people at St. Vincent children's hospital now, so that we can go over things and get a plan together before Connor makes his entrance into the world.

While I was rather ecstatic that nothing seems to be wrong with his liver, I was still disappointed about the feet. Every mother wants their baby to be perfect right? I realize that this is a very common birth defect, but my mind still wanders into "it's just not fair mode." This is something that Connor will have to overcome, just like I had things to challenge me. I know that I have done everything right in this pregnancy (aside from slacking on exercising like I should), and this is out of my control. Wow! That was a big one for me to admit. We just deal with it, and move on.

And by the way... it is DEFINITELY a boy. Little stinker wouldn't show his face, but boy was he proud of those manparts.

It's a....
BOY!

Yep.. that's right, we are unofficially having a baby boy. Obviously this isn't the picture that shows us he is a boy, but I thought everyone would enjoy the cool 4D ultrasound profile picture much more. Connor Scott will make his entry into the world sometime around March 28th.

However, not all news that came from the ultrasound was good news. The doctor has two concerns. One, she thinks the baby might be born with club foot. And two, the baby's liver is enlarged. She is sending me to a high-risk OB in Indianapolis tomorrow for another ultrasound. Hopefully, they will be able to tell me what exactly (if anything) is wrong.

I know we aren't positive something is wrong, but the waiting game is killing me. Hopefully, my doctor was just being cautious and this will turn out to be nothing at all. Until then, prayers from my baby's health and for mine and Jason's peace of mind would be appreciated.
